Password managers

Password managers are a great way to increase your security online. A password manager remembers your passwords so you don’t have to, allowing you to easily use a secure, unique password at every site.

Remembering passwords can be a hassle, so many people use the same password across multiple online websites. We strongly advise against this. For heightened online security, each login or website should have its own unique password. This is where password managers can help.

Password managers make it easy by remembering your passwords for you. You can create a different password for each of your sites, but have your password manager store them. Once you've saved your password in your password manager, you can safely access and edit the unique passwords used to log in to each of your accounts across the Internet. They also help protect you from phishing, as they will only fill in your password if you're at the address where you originally saved the password.

Below are step-by-step instructions for how to find your password in the built-in password manager for common web browsers. If you use a third party password manager, such as 1Password, Bitwarden, or KeePass, you should be able to open the application and search for "Fastmail" to find your password. Consult the app's documentation for further instructions.
