Public holidays, sporting fixtures, and many other series of events are often published in iCalendar (ICS) format online. You can subscribe to these so they are shown directly in your Fastmail calendar, and automatically updated if a new version is published.
Subscribe to a public calendar
To subscribe to a public calendar:
- Find the .ics URL of the public calendar you wish to subscribe to.
- Open the Settings → Calendars screen.
- Under Subscriptions, paste or type the URL into the text box.
- Click Subscribe to calendar.
We'll check that this is a link to a valid calendar file, then create the calendar and sync the events.
You can then rename the calendar and set its color in the calendar list.

Some governments publish an official ICS calendar for their public holidays, and many of these can easily be found online. For your convenience, we've included some below.
