Set up Fastmail on your device

We have help pages to guide you through setting up your Fastmail account on popular mail clients and apps.

For the best experience with Fastmail, we recommend using our web interface or the official Fastmail mobile app.

Users on a Basic plan will not be able to use Fastmail on third-party mail clients or create app passwords, as Basic plans do not include access to IMAP, SMTP, CalDAV, or CardDAV. If you are on a Basic plan, you can use Fastmail on a desktop web browser or the Fastmail app on any mobile devices, such as a phone or tablet.

Note: Every external program or app needs its own app password to access your information. If you use your normal password or your two-step verification password, you will see a password error.

Mobile app

If you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Android device, we recommend the Fastmail app.

If you would like to use your device's native mail app, please select your device below:

Fastmail supports push notifications on iOS devices.

Desktop

Other apps

If the app you want to use is not listed above, please check the app's technical documentation or contact their support team for instructions on how to set up an IMAP/CalDAV/CardDAV account. You may need the information on our server names and ports page if it can't discover the correct settings automatically. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer technical assistance with other clients; please contact the vendor directly.

Troubleshooting

See the client troubleshooting guide if you're having problems syncing.
